In the cultural heart of Lisbon, Fado ao Carmo Chiado opens its doors to new talent and emerging voices. The evening comes with a selection of Portuguese petiscos ordered from the menu, with a minimum spend, made for people who like to discover and choose at their own pace.
In the soul of the most traditional quarter of the city, Fado ao Carmo Alfama offers a complete evening with a menu created by Chef António Saraiva. A night where the cooking and the fado walk side by side, celebrating the Lisbon people actually live in.
From the table to the music, everything is thought through as one evening. Traditional Portuguese dishes, carefully chosen wines and a warm welcome make each night a tribute to our culture.

Fado ao Carmo has two fado houses, both with live fado every night. Chiado is at Rua da Condessa 52, beside Largo do Carmo. Alfama is at Travessa do Almargem 1B.
In Chiado the fado starts at 20:30 and the fado house is open from 19:00 to 01:00. In Alfama it starts at 21:00 and it is open from 19:30 to 02:00. An hour earlier is a comfortable margin for dinner.
Yes. Both fado houses are small and fill up most nights. Booking is done here on the site, at Book a table, where you pick the house, the day and how many of you there are.
In Chiado you eat à la carte, with a minimum spend of 40 € per person from 19:00 to 22:30 and 15 € after that, always deductible against food and drink. In Alfama there is the Dinner and Fado menu at 65 € per person, show included.
Chiado serves petiscos à la carte and gives the floor to emerging voices. Alfama has a set menu by Chef António Saraiva and a larger room, in stone and vaults. The menus and the wine lists are different in each.
It is the urban music of Lisbon, sung by one voice accompanied by the Portuguese guitar and the viola. UNESCO inscribed it on the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity in 2011. You do not need to follow the words to listen.
